A UK-based international investment group has announced plans to launch Somaliland Airways, the first-ever flag carrier of Somaliland. The airline aims to connect Hargeisa’s Egal International Airport with major global cities, including London, Frankfurt, Jeddah, Dhaka, Mumbai, Kuala Lumpur, Jakarta, and Washington, D.C.
According to early statements, feasibility studies and aircraft purchases will begin in 2026, with backing from global investors through joint ventures. The project seeks to boost trade, tourism, and international access for Somaliland, positioning Hargeisa as a new aviation hub in the Horn of Africa.

Company representatives say Somaliland Airways will symbolize “a bridge between Somaliland and the world,” offering both passenger and cargo services with a modern fleet.
A promotional video is expected soon.
